We here at HostNed have been using 2checkout (2CO) for over 10 years.  How has 2CheckOut been working for us?  I guess you could say we are extremely satisfied.  Very few issues ever and any problems have been resolved quickly and thoroughly.  Lately they have added more protection against fraud and chargebacks which REALLY helps.

Other than 2CO, I am not sure who else can offer RECURRING billing for low/no monthly minimums and fees.

Scripting / Re: Help With form2email

That could be achieved by using either a separate web page before the main form OR by using javascript.  I do not know of any pre-fabricated script that will do that easily, but if you want I can customize the script for a nominal charge.

Oh, that is a perl script.  I stopped using perl many years ago in favor of PHP which is more easily configurable and cross-server compatible.

Here is a good php form-to-email script that comes with instructions.

Looks like you have the fields "firstname" and "surname".  Make sure those are reflected in your php script.  If you still have trouble, post the php script here and I can review it.
Frontpage / Using FTP To Publish With FrontPage
October 25, 2013, 06:34:36 pm
Here is a handy course from MS to learn how to Use your FrontPage (or Expression Web) software to edit and publish websites using FTP (as opposed to the outdated FPSE).

QuoteAbout this course

This course includes:

Three self-paced lessons and two practice sessions for hands-on experience.
A short test at the end of each lesson; tests are not scored.
A Quick Reference Card you can take away from the course.

After completing this course you will be able to:

Know what FTP is and decide if it's the right publishing method for you.
Gather required information before publishing with FTP.
Publish a Web site with FTP.
Frontpage / Support For FrontPage on Cpanel
October 21, 2013, 07:04:01 pm
It has come to my attention that those of you still using FrontPage for web publishing using the FrontPage Server Extensions technology are having difficulty connecting and publishing the way you are used to (http method).  At this time, this applies to Cpanel only.  FPSE still works on Plesk servers.

I know this comes as an untimely inconvenience for many.  It is difficult to let FrontPage go (yes I am a user of FP as well!)

We are researching what can be done further to continue to support FPSE.  Microsoft abandoned FPSE in 2004, so for the last nine years, we have been tweaking our service to work FPSE into our offerrings.

As with any old server technology that goes to the wayside, eventually it can no longer be offered if for nothing else than the sake of security.

The techs are looking into the possibility of restoring FPSE and we will keep you posted here as to those efforts.
Frontpage / Re: What is the new version of Frontpage?

A free version of Microsoft Expression Web 4 is being offered by Microsoft here:
This page will instruct you on how to set up your HostNed domain e-mail on your Apple iPhone or iPad device.

(In the directions below, wherever it says "", replace with your actual domain name.)

1.    Tap the "Settings" icon
2.    Tap "Mail, Contacts, Calendars"
3.    Tap "Add Account..."
4.    Tap "Other" (bottom option)
5.    Tap "Add Mail Account"
6.    Enter Name, address (full email, and password.
(iPhone will attempt to guess your settings. Allow ~1 minute for it to fail.)
7.    Choose IMAP.
(It's the default. The option you've selected will be highlighted blue.)
8.    Under "Incoming mail server"
        Set "HostName" to
Set "UserName" to (your entire email address)
        Set "Password" to your password
9.    Under "Outgoing mail server"
        Set "HostName" to
Set "UserName" to (your entire email address)
        Set Password to your password

Setup is complete.  You are now ready to send and receive emails via your iPhone or iPad device.
Are you getting the error message "None of the authentication methods supported by this client are supported by your server" when using Outlook?

Users are beginning to see this message more often due to recent internet standards changing to make servers more secure by default.  If you want to get geeky and see the technical reason, you can review here and here.

Fixing this is easy.  In your Outlook Account Settings, go into MORE SETTINGS -> OUTGOING SERVER and enable
"My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication"

Here is a link to a page outlining this in detail for Outlook 2010.

We are working on this issue currently.  Please correspond through TKT #8391
Host Multiple Web Sites - Each with it's own domain name!

Add-on domains are for users of Cpanel (and new Plesk!) control panel services.  They are offered on Linux Custom Plus and greater hosting plans.

In your Control Panel, creation of an addon domain allows you to host an additional domain from within your current server Control Panel interface.  It will have access to it's own databases and email accounts, but they will count against your overall allowance of such.  It is a great solution for those who want to host more than one domain but do not mind doing that from the same Cpanel hosting account.

Cpanel Documentation for Add-on Domains

Alternatively, if you want access to a completely different server Control Panel account for different end users, you may want to consider simply having separate hosting accounts for each of them or use a Reseller Hosting account that allows for hosting of completely independent domains on separate Cpanel accounts.
