How do I cancel my account?

To cancel, open a Support Ticket  and specify your request to cancel.  Be sure to cancel at least one week prior to recurring billing date to ensure you are not charged again (especially for domain names which are non-refundable).

Ecommerce / Review: Shopster for Ecommerce
June 30, 2010, 02:34:10 PM
I was asked by a client to investigate potential programs for selling online, both inventory items and drop-shipping of items.  I discovered Shopster and liked what I saw of them.  I am going to use their free trial and report back here with a review of the service.

They allow you to sell on ebay and also accept paypal.  So far so good...

Design Other / Custom 404 Page Creator Widget
March 19, 2010, 11:42:08 AM
I discovered this widget from Google that creates a custom 404 error page that suggests a good relevant page automatically for your user.  If you have a site that gets a considerable number of 404 hits, you might want to check this tool out.

Announcements / CP2 Linux Server Upgrade
February 08, 2010, 05:06:13 PM
Server CP2 Upgrade Notice:

On Monday night (8PM - 11PM) we will be performing an upgrade on the web server CP2.  We will be installing Latest versions of software including Apache, PHP, MySQL and others.  This will ensure the latest, most secure server environment possible.

During this period we discourage any web site updates.  You may experience intermittent site inactivity during this time but nothing major.

Additionally we will be assigning a different main IP address to the server.  The new IP will be 205.251.136.130.  Be advised that if you have any web scripts that reference the server IP address or any DNS services that make such reference, you will need to update those to reflect the new IP so they may continue to function properly.  If you do not know what these things are then you probably do not need to do anything.

We anticipate all scripting paths to remain the same (so you need take no action), however, if you experience any trouble with your site (if it stops working or if you encounter errors) after midnight (EST), please post questions to the Community Forums here in reply.  This will let others see the information and common Q&A for quickest answers.

Thanks,
Tech Support

Design Other / An alternative to AWstats
October 13, 2009, 08:49:24 PM
There is a free stats tracking service called Extreme Tracking.  I started using them on a few of my sites.  Sure, my sites have AWstats which I think are the bast, but I like having the ExtremeTracking as a supplement.  To check them out, go to ImpressionShop.com and scroll to the bottom on the right and click the little black and blue planet graphic there.

Things I like about Extreme Tracking:
1) Quick and easy.  Don't have to log in anywhere to get some basic info.
2) Public-viewable.  This might be a bad thing if you do not want the public to be able to see where your traffic is coming from, but for my uses it is not a problem.
3) MAY help with SEO since spiders can peruse the stats and pick up all the good keywords and links to your site.

So what do you think of this neat and free stats tool?

Great news!

Increased Security - Latest versions of software like Plesk, PHP, IIS, and MySQL waves goodbye to hackers
Increased Speed - 64 bit, Dual quad-core.  Need we say more?
Increased Reliability -  On this server more applications run in their own processes meaning a crash on one domain account does not affect others.

All new installs for Windows server will be on this new system and current Windows Server accounts are getting a FREE MIGRATION!

Advertising Boards / Custom Stickers and T-shirts
April 26, 2009, 12:21:44 PM
I discovered a cool service named ImpressionShop.com where you can create your own custom products.  I have made a few different oval sticker designs and I am very impressed by the quality of the decal.  Also the selection is impressive.  Hundreds of products like mousepads, hats, jewelery, thumb drives, magnets, watches and all kinds of stuff.  Cheaper than Cafepress, way bigger selection and less expensive than Zazzle too, so I believe they are a great alternative. :)  I recommend!

Design Other / Is Google SiteMaps really necessary?

I really want lots of opinions on this.  Is Google SiteMaps really necessary?  Do you use their Sitemap Generator Tool or do you use a thrid party service like XML-SiteMaps.

Advertising Boards / Advertising Banners Needed
July 07, 2007, 12:07:00 PM
Hi,

I am looking for a graphic designer to create some ads for a web site.  We have the site made up and have enrolled in ShareBucks Affiliate Network but need a professional-looking ad design.  The site is International Car Stickers.  I will need 2 different designs on the top four standard ad formats (125x125, 468x60, 728x90, and 160x600).  A job well done will get work for other sites as well.

If you are interested, please PM me or email to dan.w(at)dynawebdesigns.com
