FTP Issues/General Help

I'm having a little bit of difficulty in setting up my site here...

First off it's important to understand that though I'm pretty knowledgeable about computers etc, throwing the words PHP and FTP into sentences, is kinda where I draw my blanks...so bear with me here.

I downloaded FileZilla and try to connect to my IP address, and it always times out.  Since I just registered the domain earlier today, does that mean the site might not be fully functional yet, even though I can see the default setup site when I type it in the address bar?

Secondly, I'm trying to set up a PHPBB discussion forum on my site...though I should probably ask the PHP nerds, I wondered if anyone here had any suggestions for how I can go about incorporating this onto my site.

I know very minimal HTML, and I do have Front Page at my disposal, though I shudder at the thought...

If you have just recently gotten a domain name or recently changed the nameservers, it may take 1 to 3 days for the name to link up to the server.  In the meantime, use your server IP address to connect to the FTP.  IF you still cannot connect, open a support ticket with all the details.

PHPBB is allright but be sure to keep up with the updates and patches for security reasons.
